Raymond Baker is the Executive Director of the Southern Ute Indian Growth Fund and a Southern Ute Indian Tribal member. He serves as a member of the Growth Fund Management Committee and oversees the administration of the Growth Fund (GF) and all GF Enterprises.
He also has direct supervision over Tribe’s Department of Energy, Tribe’s Utility Division,
Human Resources, Safety and Environmental Compliance Management Group (SECMG), and Sky Ute Fairgrounds.
Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, Mr. Baker worked with SECMG where he exceeded in all areas of his responsibilities and had proven his worth by due diligence, accountability and ownership of those duties.
Mr. Baker also served over three decades in the U.S. Navy, 23 of those years in senior-level administrative and management positions on both a national and international scale. Mr. Baker enlisted in the Navy after graduating from Durango, CO, High School as a junior enlisted Sailor and was commissioned as a naval officer by the President of the United States in 2004. Mr. Baker’s last military duty was the Officer-in-Charge of the Navy’s top 1% elite deep-sea divers, the most highly decorated diving command in U.S. military history, for all vital missions critical to national security and was the same command he received his commission from.
Noteworthy accomplishments: Letter of Appreciation for naval service from the following Presidents of the U.S.: Obama, G. W. Bush (Senior), Bush (Junior), Clinton, Carter, and the Reagan Presidential Library and Governors from the states of Florida, Connecticut, Washington, and Colorado. Personnel awards earned: Legion of Merit Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3), Presidential Unit Citation, and various other unit citations and personnel awards. Graduate of Mustang University (Naval Officer Candidate School).
